Welcome to L-Egant Solutions, LLC

Researchers seek routinely to increase the productivity of their workflow and shorten the timescale for discovery. I should know: I spent 35+ years of my career in experimental physics, studying fusion energy, plasma physics, and technology.

It started with a Ph.D. in physics, from the University of California, Irvine,  studying methods to inject intense ion beams into a fusion reactor.  After graduating I worked on ion-space propulsion at the Hughes Research Laboratories, followed by my first startup, MicroBeam, Inc.,  developing focused-ion beams for microelectronics.

I returned to physics research studying magnetic-flux compression in a Z-pinch, x-ray lithography, and beam propagation, which led me back to UC Irvine, to work with my thesis advisors. In 2001 we co-founded, and I named, Tri Alpha Energy, Inc., developing a magnetic field-reversed configuration for fusion energy.

Z-pinches were always an attractive option for me, due to their ability to provide extremes in power and compressed-energy density, leading to the invention of a new method for energy delivery into a fusion target. The result was many papers and two patents on the "Staged Z-pinch", which are the basis for my third start-up, Magneto-Inertial Fusion Technologies, Inc., developing the SZP for fusion and the production of medical isotopes.

Having retired recently from these engagements, I am now focused on providing cost-effective product solutions to researchers, some of which are compiled here. These product solutions are manufactured by Zeonics Systech, of India, founded in 1981, who is a leader in high-voltage, pulsed-power components and systems.  It will always be my pleasure to provide you with the support and help needed to facilitate your discoveries.
